  1. spread (inside bridges rock gym):
Spread’s business was founded with the intent to support local farmers and serve sustainable/organic ingredients, offering better, healthier alternative to today’s fast food eateries.
Spread will pledge our profits from carrotmob to be used in purchasing a energy efficient dishwasher to limit the amount of water usage our business demands. Part of our profits will also be contributed to the school that’s sponsoring this event, spread believes that a greener tomorrow starts with educating the children of today, without their contribution and consciousness

  2. What we pledge to do at Sugar Cone Cafe:

We plan to use 100% of the profits made from the carrot mob toward greening our store and pledge to generate a program that commits other Kensington businesses to “go green.” We also have plans to take this green movement to a statewide scale.

Statewide: We promise to convert to using biodegradable ice cream cups and spoons. We currently purchase our ice cream cups from Double Rainbow who sells to numerous clients throughout the state. These cups are not biodegradable. We are currently having discussions with Double Rainbow about getting them to sell biodegradable cups to all their customers. The impact wouldn’t just affect our store, but at least 65 other stores in the state.

Local: We will pledge to talk with other businesses on our block and give them ideas on how they too can green their business. One of the ideas is to set up a compost system for businesses our block.

Store: We pledge to buy a bike rack, spare locks and pump to encourage people to use alternate methods of transportation to reduce their carbon footprint. We are currently discussing the idea of having a “Bike to the Cone” Day where customers who bike to our store can get discounts for the day to promote green transportation.
