A Carrotmob is where we organize a massive group of people to buy products a store. In exchange, the business puts a portion of their profit during that time towards greening their store. Last year, over 300 people came in 3 hours-- they made more than they would in 3 days. CBS came to film the event. spread (inside bridges rock gym):
ReplyDeleteOn average, approximately 2.5 million plastic plates are discarded and does not break down as easily. The chemicals in plastic can also contaminate water supplies, as a result, compostable plates are the best for the earth and has been a choice for use @ spread. We will also be switching out our plastic 16 oz cups in the near future to help us achieve our goal as a green business.
What we have done at Sugar Cone Cafe:
ReplyDelete-We currently use metal spoons for customers who want to taste our ice cream instead of using plastic ones.
-We landscaped the outside of our store with drought-resistant plants. (Before we took over, the area was a dilapidated dirt pile with trash accumulating).
-All of our baked goods are are made from organic products.
